Theme Park Bag Packing Hack

Save space in your tiny theme park backpack

If you’ve ever gone to a theme park in California, you probably know the struggle: it’s hot during the day but chilly at night. That means bringing a sweatshirt—but carrying a bulky sweater around all day can take up valuable space in your bag.

Here’s the packing trick I discovered that solves the problem.

The Problem: Sweatshirts Take Up Too Much Room

When I was packing for a theme park day, I wanted to bring a sweatshirt for the evening—but my mini theme park backpack didn’t have much room.

Even when folded tightly, the sweatshirt was still taking up a huge portion of my bag.

The Compression Bag Solution

Since I already use compression bags when packing for travel, I wondered if there might be a smaller version that would work for theme park bags.

I found a pack of tiny compression bags on Amazon that are perfect for this.

The best part?
They don’t require a vacuum.

How It Works

Using them is simple:

  1. Put your sweatshirt inside the compression bag.
  2. Seal it.
  3. Roll the bag to push the air out through small valves.

Once the air is removed, the sweatshirt becomes much smaller and easier to pack.

Perfect for Small Theme Park Bags

After compressing the sweatshirt, it fits easily inside my bag with plenty of room left for other items.

Then when the temperature drops later in the evening:

  • Open the bag
  • Let the air back inYour sweatshirt returns to normal size

It’s a super simple hack that makes carrying an extra layer much easier.
