Give Kids the World Village in Kissimmee, Florida is not your typical theme park visit—it’s an 89-acre nonprofit resort that gives cost-free vacations to children with critical illnesses.
I had the opportunity to volunteer and share what it’s like firsthand.
What Volunteering Entails
- Fill out a form and background check
- Complete online orientation
- Choose a shift (I worked in the ice cream shop, which was actually my very first job at 15!
- )
The ice cream shop serves free ice cream from 7:30 a.m., making smiles a priority before the day even begins.
Accessible Attractions and Fun
- Many rides are wheelchair accessible
- Guests enjoy free access to the amusement area Amberville
- Volunteers see firsthand the impact on families facing medical challenges
