Every year, Knott’s Berry Farm transforms into a holiday wonderland - Knott's Merry Farm. My MUST SEE holiday show is always the ice skating show in the Walter Knott Theatre, recently called Snoopy's Night Before Christmas.
But did you know the ice skating show that features Snoopy has a very specific origin story?

Basically, without that ice show, the Peanuts characters may have never ended up at Knott's Berry Farm, Cedar Fair parks, and now Six Flags parks!
How Snoopy Came to Knott’s
In 1980, the Knott family approached Charles Schulz about the Peanuts characters. Originally, Schulz wasn't interesting in having his beloved characters in any theme park. But Schulz agreed only if his ice-skating daughter could perform as Snoopy in an ice skating show created for the park.
Knott agreed and buit an ice rink in his theatre, which became a perfect match for Knott’s seasonal shows.
Once Cedar Fair bought Knott's Berry Farm, they also were allowed to use the Peanuts characters in their parks around the country. Smart move!
