You may have heard the term coaster enthusiast and wondered what it actually means.
Do you have to join a club?
Ride hundreds of coasters?
Memorize roller coaster statistics?
The truth is much simpler.
If you love roller coasters — whether riding them, watching them, or learning about them — you might already be a coaster enthusiast.
Anyone Can Be a Coaster Enthusiast
Being a coaster enthusiast isn’t exclusive.
There are no required qualifications or official rules.
Just like someone can be a:
- Car enthusiast
- Sports fanMovie lover
…you can simply decide you’re passionate about roller coasters.
And that’s enough.
Enthusiast Communities
That said, there are many communities where coaster enthusiasts connect.
These exist across social media, forums, and in-person events.
Some groups are casual online communities, while others are official organizations.
The American Coaster Enthusiasts
The largest roller coaster enthusiast organization is American Coaster Enthusiasts, often called ACE.
Their mission is not only to celebrate roller coasters but also to preserve historic rides.
ACE hosts events, behind-the-scenes tours, and meetups at parks around the world.
Being involved with enthusiast groups like ACE has been incredibly fun for me.
It’s introduced me to amazing people, unique experiences, and opportunities I never expected.
Different Levels of Enthusiasm
Some coaster enthusiasts travel the world riding new coasters.
Others simply enjoy visiting their local park.
Both are completely valid ways to enjoy the hobby.

So the real question is:
Are you a coaster enthusiast?
