First Trip to LEGOLAND California: What to See and Do

LEGOLAND California Resort- there’s way more to this park than just Lego bricks.

From family-friendly roller coasters to surprisingly good food and tons of shows, the park is packed with things to see and do.

Start With Minifigure Trading

The very first stop should be the Minifigure Market.

Legoland has its own version of trading—just like Disney pin trading—but here you swap Lego minifigures with employees around the park.

Bring a few figures with you or buy some at the park to start trading.

Explore the Rides

Legoland California has a mix of rides for all ages.

Some highlights include:

  • GALACTICOASTER, a new family coaster for 2026
  • Emmet’s Flying Adventure, which feels a lot like Soarin’
  • LEGO Technic Coaster, a fun wild mouse ride
  • The Dragon, a classic family coaster
  • Deep Sea Adventure, a submarine-style ride
  • Lost Kingdom Adventure, an interactive shooting dark ride
  • Ninjago The Ride, where you use karate-style motions to score points

Don’t Miss the Shows

One thing that surprised me was how much entertainment the park offers.

Throughout the day, you can watch:

  • Spinjago live performances
  • Once Upon a Brick
  • Various shows in LEGO Movie World

Visit Miniland

Every Legoland park has a Miniland, and it’s one of the highlights.

These incredibly detailed Lego cities and landmarks are built by master Lego builders, and it’s amazing to see just how detailed they are.

Food Tip: Apple Fries

If you visit Legoland, you absolutely need to try Granny’s Apple Fries.

They’re warm, sweet, and even better if you ask for a side of caramel sauce.

There are also gluten-friendly and vegan options, which is always great to see at theme parks.
