If you love classic Hollywood movies, there’s a new version of the Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood you’ll definitely want to check out.
The studio has partnered with Turner Classic Movies to create the TCM Classic Films Tour, and it’s a dream experience for fans of classic film and television.
A Tour Focused on Classic Hollywood
I’ve taken both the regular studio tour and the TCM version, and both are fantastic.
But the TCM Classic Films Tour focuses much more on:
- Classic Hollywood
- Film historyThe Golden Age of television and cinema
The tour also includes videos and commentary from TCM hosts along the way.
Visiting Areas Not on the Regular Tour
One of the biggest perks is that the tour includes stops that aren’t normally part of the standard experience.
For example, we visited the historic animation buildings where Looney Tunes cartoons were originally drawn.
We also walked through the beautiful rose garden on the lot.
My Favorite Stop: The Property Department
My favorite part of the tour was the property department.
This is where thousands of props from Warner Bros productions are stored.
You get to walk through rows of iconic film props, including items from classic films like:
- My Fair Lady
- Giant
One thing I love is that they display photos next to the props showing exactly how they were used in the movie.
You Still See Modern TV and Film
Even though the TCM tour focuses on classic film, you’ll still see modern pop culture on the self-guided portion of the tour.
That includes sets and exhibits from shows like:
- Friends
- The Big Bang Theory
As well as displays from DC and Harry Potter films.
A Tip for Taking the Tour
One of my biggest tips: talk to your tour guide.
The guides at Warner Bros are incredibly knowledgeable.
If you tell them your favorite actors, movies, or shows, they’ll often customize the tour and point out things related to your interests.

Final Thoughts
The TCM Classic Films Tour is an amazing experience for classic movie lovers.
And yes — I’m also obsessed with the gift shop at the end of the tour, especially now that they have TCM merchandise.
