If you spend time around roller coaster fans, you might hear people talk about their coaster count.
So what exactly does that mean?
It’s basically a fun way for enthusiasts to keep track of how many different roller coasters they’ve ridden.
What Counts as a Coaster Credit
Each unique roller coaster counts as one credit.
You only count a coaster once — no matter how many times you ride it.
For example, if the only coaster you’ve ever ridden is Space Mountain, and you’ve ridden it 500 times…
Your coaster count is still one.
There Are No Official Rules
Coaster counting is just for fun.
There are no official rankings or awards.
But fans do enjoy celebrating milestones like:
- 100 coasters
- 200 coasters
- 250 coasters
- 500 coasters
How I Track My Coasters
Personally, I track mine using LogRide.
One feature I love is that you can look up a park and a specific year to see which coasters were operating.
That makes it much easier to remember rides you experienced years ago.

Final Thoughts
Whether you track your coaster credits or not, it doesn’t make you any more or less of an enthusiast.
But if you enjoy keeping track of experiences, it’s a really fun part of the hobby.
Can you guess what mine is? I post it in my bio on my Instagram page.
